Newington Back in Win Column With Win over Manchester
After a brief 2 game losing streak, the Newington Wolves returned to the win column with a decisive 4-1 win over Manchester in Manchester.
The Wolves struck first at the 6 minute mark of the first half by Cooper's first goal of the game to put Newington up 1-0.
Newington quickly scored again at the 8 minute mark after Damian took control of the ball in the defensive mid-field, work his way up the field and scored his first goal of the season on some very deft footwork.
Manchester quickly responded by cut the score to 2-1 at the 10 minute mark of the first half.
Newington went up 3-1 in the first half after Speedy worked the ball all the way down to the baseline drawing multiple defenders towards him which left Mike Ganley wide open at the top of the box. Speedy made a beautiful pass to Ganley who put the ball in the net and put Newington back in control.
Newington went up 4-1 in the second half on Cooper's second goal of the game off a penalty kick.
Newington improved to 5-3 overall on the season and will look to pick-up its third league victory on Sunday, October 6th when they travel and face Canton.
