Olentangy Select softball provides players of above average skill and dedication the opportunity to play in a more competitive environment. Teams generally play double-headers on weeknights (except 8-U) and travel is within the Central Ohio area.
- Players must attend player assessments to be considered for a Select team
- Team size is limited to a maximum of 12 players
- Players selected for a team are expected to attend all practices and games
**CHANGE IN SELECT REGISTRATION PROCEDURE**
TO BE CONSIDERED FOR A SELECT TEAM, A PLAYER MUST BE REGISTERED FOR A RECREATIONAL LEAGUE (WITH FEES PAID) AND ATTEND ASSESSMENTS ON MARCH 19. IF A PLAYER IS SELECTED TO PLAY, THE BALANCE OF THE FEE MUST BE PAID WITHIN 7 DAYS OF NOTIFICATION.

In its 2nd year, this team will play on Sunday afternoons in Worthington. Players will also participate in the OYAA Ponytail League (10-under) during the week, playing 24+ total games. The league will be using a standardized pitching machine and 11" regulation balls. This team allows players a chance to play competitively at a younger age in preparation for later select travel teams. Depending on skill level, interest, and availability of coaches, 2 teams may be formed.

This will be the 5th year for this Select team, which plays in the I-270 League on either Mondays/Wednesdays or Tuesdays/Thursdays. Games are double-headers and are played with a regulation 11-inch softball under ASA 10-U rules. Play in this league is skilled and highly competitive. Players selected for this team must be dedicated, willing to work hard in practice, and committed to teamwork. Playing time will be determined by the coaches based on skill level, attitude, effort, and attendance in practices and games. Playing time is not guaranteed. Practices will begin in April and games last through late July. This team will play 25+ games, which includes the OYAA sponsored GAPSS tournament in mid-July. Depending on skill level, interest, and coaching availability, 2 teams may be formed.

This local travel team is now in its 9th year. Play is governed by ASA rules. Games are played two nights per week in a double-header format. Play in this league is very skilled and highly competitive. Players selected (and parents) for this team must be dedicated, willing to work hard in practice, and committed to teamwork. Playing time will be determined by coaches based on skill level, attitude, effort, and attendance in practices and games. Playing time is not guaranteed. Practices begin in April and games last through late July. Away game travel time is 30-60 minutes. This team will play 25+ games during June and July. Multiple teams may be formed.

Emphasis in this league is on individual and team execution of plays and strategy. Players should be experienced and have a good working knowledge of the game. Skill, maturity, and dedication are qualities required for this team. Competition is strong and skill level is high. This team plays in the Central Ohio area, with travel time for away games ranging from 30-60 minutes. Games are played on weeknights. Playing time will be determined by coaches based on skill level, attitude, effort, and attendance in practices and games. Playing time is not guaranteed. This team will play 25+ games with practice starting in April and games ending in late July.
