OYAA Football is open to all 1st - 6th graders who live within the boundaries of the Olentangy School District. Children who live outside the school district and wish to play OYAA football need to e-mail the OYAA Football Commissioner. The tackle program starts the first week in August for practice, games start Autust 28 and end the first weekend in November. The Flag program starts the middle of August for practice; games also start on August 28 and are played September through October. All GAMES are played on Sunday afternoons.

Fall 2011 Football registration will open on May 23 and end on JULY 10. All 3rd-6th grade players must attend one of the assessments on June 12 or July 10 at SuperKick. We do not expect to hold any other evaluation dates, so mark these dates on your calendar.

Flag football participants have no evaluations and we attempt to keep players on a team from their school or neighborhood as is possible. We always need head coaches in Flag leagues. Please consider volunteering for your son’s team.

ALL 3RD-6TH GRADERS MUST ATTEND ONE OF THE ANNOUNCED REGISTRATION/SKILLS ASSESSMENTS HELD ON JUNE 12 OR JULY 10. OYAA Football strives to have evenly matched teams and the assessment process makes the selection of teams fair and consistent. Only a head coach and ONE assistant can request to be paired together. Siblings are also placed on the same team. NO other same team request will be honored to assure fair and equitable player distribution. Grade levels are separated into 2 or 3 geographic divisions so practices will be close and carpool partners will be available.

The registration fee is $80.00 for 1st and 2nd graders in flag football. Players will receive shorts, team jersey, socks and a mouth guard. We will play 9 on 9 (numbers permitting) with 12-14 players per team. OYAA Football is in need of volunteers to assist with Flag Football administration.

The registration fee is $150.00 for 3rd through 6th graders in tackle football. The league provides helmets and shoulder pads to use for the season and team jersey, socks, mouth guard and helmet decals that the player can keep.. There will be separate 3^rd, 4^th, 5^th and 6^th grade leagues. Team rosters will have 16-18 players. Ball-carrying weight limits are 80 lbs. for 3rd, 90 lbs for 4^th, 120 lbs. in 5th and 130 lbs. in the 6th grade league. OYAA Football needs volunteers to help coordinate all age groups.

Coaches - to volunteer as a head or assistant coach, register online when registering your player or separately on the OYAA Registration page on the home page. Coaches are always assigned to coach their son's team. Each head coach can request ONE assistant coach (and son) in the 3rd-6th tackle leagues.
