Well here is how you can! If you meet these minimum requirements and successfully pass tryouts you are on the team. Who's Eligible? Boys ages 9-14 years of age willing to make a commitment to the team. Our system is designed to prepare and develop players for the Olentangy Baseball program. When are Tryouts? OYAA Travel Baseball program starts in the fall with tryouts. These tryouts are usually held in late September over the course of two weekends. Information announcing tryouts are placed in the local papers and literature is sent home with the kids once school starts. Evaluations are done by the head coach and at least four other coaches or administrators, which have no involvement with that specific age group. Fairness and making the right choices based on player ability and potential are the themes for the evaluators. When do we practice? Depending on the age group, practices generally start in the late fall at indoor baseball facilities and continue throughout the winter. The season starts in early May and continues to the middle of July. Each team plays approximately 50 games per season. Please check our Schedule of Events for the most accurate schedule as we know it. How much does it cost? Registration fees for the last two seasons have been $425.00 /player. This fee covers all expenses except for winter workout charges (To be announced ASAP)
