Who is Eligible? Basketball players who attend Olentangy schools or live within the Olentangy School District boundaries. Girls and Boys teams are being formed for 4th, 5th, and 6th grade. Age limits also apply to the grade level teams. What is the Cost?The program costs approximately $200. This fee covers the uniform, referees, gym space, association fees and one tournament. How much time is involved?The basketball practices will be 2 to 3 nights a week starting in late October until the season begins in mid to late November thru February. Once games are scheduled, practices will be twice a week with 1 or more games scheduled per week. Attending practices and games is mandatory for players unless they are ill or have a valid excuse. How much playing time will I get?Coaches will make every effort to give each player valuable playing time during each game. Players who attend all practices and games should play at least six minutes of every game. This is a competitive league and equal playing time for all players is not guaranteed. When and where are Tryouts?
ALL SESSIONS ARE FOR TRYOUTS FOR THE ENTIRE OLENTANGY DISTRICT. Tryouts will begin promptly at the indicated time. Attendance at all sessions is not mandatory, but is strongly recommended. Plan to arrive 30 minutes early to complete the registration form, receive a number, and have your picture taken. Players are not allowed to wear any part of last year's basketball uniform to tryouts. They should bring a water bottle and wear appropriate basketball shoes. A parent meeting will be held during the first 30 minutes of the 1st day of tryouts for your child.
