OYAA Rec Baseball Has Partnered with the Babe Ruth International Baseball League starting in 2018

The Olentangy Youth Athletic Association (OYAA) has announced that the Rec Baseball program will form a partnership with the Babe Ruth League, Inc./Cal Ripken Division starting in the 2018 season.

The international Babe Ruth League, Inc. program, the premier baseball program for youth, is headquartered in Trenton, New Jersey. Like OYAA, it is a non-profit, educational organization dedicated to developing better citizens by providing properly supervised baseball and softball competition for players ages 4 through 18. It is the basic intent of Babe Ruth League that every player who has a desire to play the sport is given the opportunity to participate and have fun. 

OYAA was established over 25 years ago to offer youths the opportunity to participate in athletics. This is accomplished by providing a fun and challenging atmosphere where they can learn, develop and maintain the desire to continue playing the game. Our vision is to become the premier youth athletic association in the country, providing athletic opportunities promoting healthy and age-appropriate experiences for local youth.

For its first season in 2018, we are chartering the following rec baseball divisions with Cal Ripken Baseball and Babe Ruth Baseball:

• 10U AAA Minors
• 12U Majors
• Age 13-15

The OYAA Ripken Baseball AAA Minors 10U Division will be holding evaluations for the 2018 season on August 19, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. and on Thursday, August 24, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Both sessions will be held at Scioto Ridge Elementary School at 8715 Big Bear Avenue in Powell, Ohio. Registration started on August 1, 2017 and continues through August 23, 2017 on www.oyaa.org. The AAA Minors Division is OYAA’s advanced 10U Division.

Registration for all other age divisions opens February 1, 2018.
