Girls Rec Lacrosse Information

Lacrosse is the fastest growing sport in America in 2017 with over 1 million participants and continues to grow within Central Ohio.  The girls’ game of Lacrosse is a game of finesse, quickness and skill.  The girls’ game is played much differently than the boys’ game.  Although body checking and major contact between players is discouraged, the girl’s game remains to be an extremely fast and aggressive sport.

It is the Mission of OYAA Girls Lacrosse to provide your daughters with a safe and fun environment that fosters development of fundamental lacrosse skills, sportsmanship, and lacrosse gameplay IQ.  Our program will help educate and inspire families within the community to embrace the game of lacrosse.

We seek to create the best lacrosse experience for younger ages. Our program encourages player growth of all skill and experience levels. Our coaching and gameplay strategy is designed to ensure skill development appropriate to age, physical size, maturity and skill.  Progression through the program will prepare our girls’ for higher levels of competition and position them to successfully transition into middle school and high school play.  As opportunities arise we will notify parents and coaches so they may capitalize on learning situations like camps and clinics offered locally both by OYAA and outside organizations.

If you are interested in coaching, please do not hesitate to volunteer.  The program is dependent on volunteers and will only continue to grow with the help of parents and community members.  Even if you have little knowledge of the sport there is much support provided.
