Background Check Information

The Olentangy Youth Athletic Association is committed to providing a positive and rewarding athletic experience for our children. As part of this commitment to the Olentangy community, OYAA requires criminal background checks for those who come in contact with our athletes:  commissioners, coaches and other volunteers.

This mandatory screening is a simple step in the registration process. Potential coaches will be emailed a link to initiate the background check process; this screening must be completed before the individual is approved to take part in our programs. Please note that background checks previously completed for another organization will not be accepted for this purpose. Results will be provided to the OYAA and will remain confidential.

The costs associated with this screening program will be provided for by OYAA. We have implemented this program to help ensure that we can provide a safe and healthy environment for children participating in athletics. We appreciate your continued support of OYAA and our programs.
